I grew up the 10th of 12 kids in an Irish Catholic family. My
parents were kind and loving, but simply could not provide the type of
nurturing I needed. I discovered alcohol and drugs early and self medicated to
quiet the voice that told me I wasn’t loveable, I wasn’t enough, and I wasn’t
special. I looked for love with men who couldn’t love me, and for self esteem
in careers.
My addiction to alcohol and drugs consumed and imprisoned me. Finally, that
prison became real when I was incarcerated over and over for driving under the
influence. I was fortunate enough to not physically harm others, but I spent 6
years in prison over two prison sentences.
I have emerged from that life sober, spiritually grounded in my true Self,
and happily married to a man that can give and receive love. It was a matter of
changing the way I thought about myself. You can change the way you see
yourself, too, and finally start living free.
I
want to tell you the stories that brought me to where I am and, hopefully, help
you on your path to personal freedom.
